The San Antonio Poetry Fair offers two poetry contests to adults this year.
Contest 1 is offered to all adult poets in the nation, a broader competition, with $350.00 in cash awards.
Contest 2 is limited to adult poets in the San Antonio area, also offering $350.00 in cash awards.
DEADLINE: JUNE 15, 2020.
CONTEST 1 OFFERED FOR ADULTS OUTSIDE SAN ANTONIO AREA ONLY:
1. THE NATIONAL SAN ANTONIO POETRY FAIR AWARD.
This contest is
offered to poets OUTSIDE the San Antnio area. Any subject or form. Offered by
Carol Siskovic and Billie Stroud.
1st Place - $200.00, 2nd Place -
$100.00, 3rd Place - $50.00.
Publication in Anthology for all
winners, and selected others also deemed worthy of recognition. The anthology,
a beautiful, perfect bound collection is not free to winners as
SAPF is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. The total cost of the
anthology is $12.00 ($10.00 for the book and $2.00 for mailing).
Entry fees required.
One to three poems may be submitted. Entry fees required: $3.00 for 1 poem, $4.00 for 2 poems, and $5.00 for three poems. Additional poems will be disqualified and not considered by judges.
Winners will be notified
by letter and email, and winning poems will be published in the anthology along
with some selected others.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS:
1. Poems may be written on any subject, in any form, but must be original work
of the author. Your entry in the contest will be considered your declaration of
ownership. Appropriate citation should be provided for any quotations.
2. Inappropriate language is discouraged since the anthology is for all ages.
3. Poets, by entering, are granting permission to be published in the
anthology, Voices Along the River, if selected.
All rights to the poem remain the poet's.
4. Poems must be entered electronically in Times New Roman, 12 point
font.
5. In the subject box, write your name and the number of contest you are
entering. For example, John Doe, contest 1 or Jane, Doe, contest 2.
6. At top of each poem on left hand side please write:
Title of Poem
Your Name
Your Full Address with Zip code
Your Phone number
Your Email address
7. ALL poems are limited to 28 lines so as to fit on one page of
anthology.
8. No more than 50 characters per line including spaces and punctuation.
Longer lines will be broken at editor's discretion.
9. You may type the poem in the email text, but if you send it as an attachment,
SAVE in rich text format, RTF to ensure a correct transmission.

copy of each poem entered and contest number for each poem.

If you fail to follow instructions, your entry may not be received and cannot be judged, or may be disqualified.
